Starbucks Coffee is one of the coffee shops to be at for coffee or something to eat. The speed of service is very good and they take orders then get it taken care of immediately. Everything is done with efficiency for the Starbucks locations I've been to. I've been to this location a few times and ordered a coffee here before. I don't recall a time when I have to wait longer than 5 minutes for my coffee. - Friendly staff - Clean facility - Good customer service The location is right between: - Westfield San Francisco Centre - Powell St BART / MUNI Metro Station This coffee shop is also of convenience for customers and commuters.

if it isnt for the convenience, i wouldn't come here! if i can give this place a NO star, i would do so with no hesitation!! i come to this Starbucks on days when im going to work and i take BART. I work in the Westfield Mall so this place is literally JUST RIGHT THERE! I've been here a few times within this month since i took the BART more often due to the rainy days =X and not ONCE, mind you NOT ONCE do i see the people who work here smile. Honestly, i know it's tough to be at work by 6am; but can you PLEASE leave your grumpy face at home?! I mean i hate to be at work 9am on a storming day, who wouldnt?! but i dont walk into work looking all grumpy! Minus 1 star for them! 2nd of all, these people work SOOO SLOWWWWWWW. i mean c'mon, how long does it take to get my cup of brew coffee?? in top of that, the workers left their ears at home! they don't ask if you want a certain thing. Example of leaving their ears at home. I ordered a cup of coffee with morning bun. i dont know how she heard WARM... NO, i dont want my cinnamon bun warm, thank you very much! giving me a half ass sorry that i seriously don't need if you're not sincere about it. MINUS 1/2 a star Example of NOT ASKING: i order the oatmeal, not my 1st time ordering their oatmeal but at least other Starbucks would as if i want water in there or no. because some people don't like to walk around eating oatmeal in downtown! without asking me they decided to just add hot water in my oatmeal. when i said I DONT WANT WATER, it was already too late. the girl with the glasses & dark skin. (YOU CANT MISS HER, SHE IS SOME KIND OF ASIAN WITH LONG HAIR.) gave me the DEADLY stare like she was going to slice me up into pieces again DID not apologize to me. I am avoiding this place from now on! I'll walk across the street to the starbucks on Market and 4th where people are much more friendlier and don't look like they ate $hit before work. Because they all have their $hit face on while serving you.

Oh Starbucks, how I love you so! Why do you do this to me?? My order is wrong about every other time, if not every two times, I order here. Not only that, but apparently Starbucks asks for your wrong order back and tosses it away. In front of you. Hm..I would have given it to someone on the streets who isn't lactose-intolerant. What happened to your sense of paying it forward, Starbucks? Oh well, maybe I'll just go to the one on Powell from now on.

The baristas here aren't that nice especially the guys. They seriously either need to change their attitudes or seek life elsewhere. The Cafe mochas aren't that great but it's cheap so why even expect do much from a place like this. I think if they weren't so fixated on getting a tip and they gave better service I'd come back more but for now I'm sticking to Walgreens on Powell and buying double shot energy drinks instead. When the winter season rolls in ill opt to go to the one in the Nikko hotel instead LOL

Came here two weeks ago since I was at the mall so thought I would stop by Starbucks to grab a drink. I remembered Starbucks sent me a member exclusive email a few days ago regarding a free tall Caramel Macchiato drink with the purchase through my registered Starbucks card which is definitely different from the massive posts around the net a week ago regarding a free Caramel Macchiato. So, I went in the shop, took out my Starbucks card and showed my phone with the email from Starbucks regarding the free drink. The Caucasian male Batista behind the counter said, "I need to see the actual coupon" and showed me one of those coupons from a week ago regarding a free drink. So I told him this wasn't the same as the free drink from the week before. I received a personal email with a code. He said "I need to see the coupon on your Starbucks account". Really? I registered the card under Starbucks to receive emails from them so I showed him who the sender was and told him to enter the code. He got annoyed and entered the code. "The code is not valid and have been used." I have not been to Starbucks for the past two weeks so there was no way I could have used the card and code. After trying to tell him to try the code again and that the email is indeed from Starbucks for the next 15minutes, he started giving off attitude like I was trying to get a free drink. Since I did not want to hold up the line, I just ordered another drink. While I was waiting in line, I saw this lady that just went up to another cashier, showed her a code from her phone and ordered her free drink. That incident ruined my mood. If I see that Caucasian male ever again at Starbucks, I will be sure to get his name. Funny thing, I walked down the street to another Starbucks and asked if I can use the coupon and was told that as long as I had my registered card I was able to get it. Bottom line, I did end up getting my free drink, but the customer service and workers' attitude at the Westfield Starbucks needs to be fixed.

Complete trash! Not only did the cashier not understand my order, but also they gave me the wrong size when I saw them write on the correct sized cup. What's up with that?!? They didn't ask for my name and they didn't ask if I wanted whipped cream. This place is terrible. Worst Starbucks I have ever been to. They location is great but the service quality dwells beneath satisfactory.

One of the nicer Starbucks I've been to. Get my coffee here every morning before work. Employees are very sweet, and work quickly. They do their best to help you out. Prices went up A LOT a few weeks ago though - not sure if this is just the SF locations of everywhere.

I come here everyday on my way to work. Everyone here has a smile on their faces every single time I come here. :)

Location is great. Right in the Bart station, so once you're out of the turnstiles early in the morning, there it is. Problem though is that ridiculous line out the entryway 98% of the time. I will only go if 1) the line is only one or two people out of Starbucks or 2) I am in dire need of caffeine that morning. As others have pointed out, they have too many people taking orders and too few actually making the drinks. I mean, great, I paid in 3 mins, but now i have to wait 10 to get my stupid drink. And they've gotten my drink wrong a couple of times (a macchiato instead of a latte) which means they also charged me incorrectly. Nevertheless, I will still come here when i need to because I do not pass any other Starbucks on my way to work in the morning besides this one.

  • Daryl R.

Convenient caffeine spot located inside BART's powell station. If you want a coffee in the morning before you go to work, make sure you come here early as the line gets long in the AM.

  • Jim G.

This is the "grab it and go" kind of Starbucks due to it's extremely cramped quarters with literally no seating of any kind. Unfortunately, there's: - ALWAYS a line (no matter when I come in). - TOO MANY baristas taking orders (two or three usually) and - NEVER enough baristas making the drinks (generally only one). I know, just get my coffee to wake up and quit my bitching. But when I have to wait ten minutes for my order? Not. freaking. cool. And last week when I gave my name (Jim, obviously), the girl replied "Jeremy??" How on God's green Earth do you make up two additional syllables out of thin air?! UGH.

    (2)
  • Christina G.

No places to sit in here!! Very nice for quick, efficient coffee, right as you get off from the Bart Station... but other than that.... It's a bit of a disappointing Starbucks.

    (2)
  • Tammy C.

Not a lot of coffee shops open earlier than 6:15am other than Starbucks. Convenient location right by Bart/Muni if you are in desperate need of coffee but the line could get fairly long when all the riders were thinking of the same thing. Service was typical on the okay side with speed and courtesy.

Starbucks, why do you make it so hard for me to be loyal? Let me begin by saying that I'm a huge starbucks fan. I have the app, I'm a "gold card" member. I'm such a fan that when I was just in Fribourg, Switzerland a few months ago, I spent 7.20 Euros for a Venti (Yes, that's how expensive things are over there). I used to love this Starbucks, the baristas were nice, and even though there was a huge line on the way to work, they work fast. It used to be one of the most efficient in the city. But now, this place has clearly seen better days. The current staff doesn't seem to be moving onward, but backward instead. It's so sad that I'm willing to walk an extra SF block to get my morning, afternoon, and late afternoon coffee.

This Starbucks is so great. The line moves so quickly and the staff is always laughing, and making you feel great. I love coming to get my coffee here, just wish I had it closer to my office.

The new manager here is great. I am surprised at all of the comments about how slow it is because I have never waited longer than 5 or 6 minutes for my drink. I used to work at Starbucks...I know what it's like to be new and to be new at this store would be awful! (probably why people have complained about incorrect drinks). But you should try to be a bit more understanding...it's also possible the drink was written wrong. Anyway, my rating still stands: Love the employees, they're all so interesting and unique, no not super friendly, but that is understandable considering how busy this damn place is. Only downside is there are so many homeless people around, it always smells like BO or piss...

  • Joyce J.

I was pleasantly surprised with the customer service at this Starbucks. I ordered and only then remembered I didn't have my Starbucks card (which gives me free milk/syrup upgrades) and changed my order, saying "I forgot my card at home" and the guy working the register said, "You can download the Starbucks app and access your card on your phone." So I did, thanks man! The barista who made my drink was also super nice and smiling.

I don't think I've ever seen such a poorly-run Starbucks. Seeing that they are located in a BART station, where people are trying to get in and out of there probably more quickly than other Starbucks, they should consider working maybe just a teeny bit faster. I've missed my train and almost missed my train multiple times waiting for my drink. I've gotten there at least 10 minutes before most of my trains too, so I've definitely allowed enough time. Some things I can point out for the management at Starbucks (it just might save you guys some more bad reviews): 1) stop having your employees mindlessly chat with customers when there is a long line of customers waiting - there's a difference between being friendly and chatting up a storm like your catching up with an old friend 2) if there are 4 baristas on the floor, have more than 1 making the drinks... Seems like a no brainier when there are 10 drinks to be made - are you guys just lazy or have no common sense? 3) make the drinks a little quicker, I've had my drink put out before I've even finished paying at other Starbucks and it tastes great, while you guys take forever and frankly I've had way better tasting drinks. Hope you guys can see the light!

this is the first time that I feel that I have to write a review for Starbucks. I simply don't like it because it doesn't give you refill! I am not talking about FREE refill. At starbucks, you can pay 50 cents to refill your coffee or ice tea. So.. I assume this starbucks can give you refill as well. However, they refuse to give me refill since there is no where to sit in the store... so.. no refill at all.

  • Melody L.

I mean, it's a pretty standard Starbucks and has yummy tea/coffee and good service. Extra star because I ordered a Iced Tazo Passion Tea with a shot of raspberry and my cashier refused to charge me for the extra shot of raspberry because of its negligibleness.

The other day I ordered a vanilla bean frap w/o whip. Lo and behold, I got whip. In addition, chunks of ice were embedded at the bottom of the drink. Should have asked to replace it. I got a strawberry banana Viviano smoothie last night. Much better than the vanilla bean frap. Although the cup wasn't filled, the taste was pretty stellar. I walked past Jamba Juice thinking I could have gotten that but I have a lot of Starbucks cards to use, and points/stars to earn. The baristas are really peppy which I would say is a good thing. Being engaged in work is much better than looking like you're being tortured in pressing buttons and pouring milk.

If there is one Starbucks that you must avoid it should be this one. Unfortunately that was hard to do when I worked in the mall. The barristas are all very nice and friendly but the coffee is AWFUL! Every time I would drink a cup of their coffee or order one of their specialty drinks (mocha's, latte's, etc.) I would get a sickening feeling in my stomach that would almost always result in diarrhea or cramps. I thought it was just me at first but it has actually happened to some of my friends and coworkers as well. If you have to go to this location for your caffeine fix, you would be better off ordering hot or iced tea instead. At least it's safer. If you have to have coffee in this mall, you should go to Cocola located on the 4th floor on the Bloomingdale's side of the mall. It's the best and it won't leave you with a stomach ache. It's also not as well known as Starbucks or Peet's so it is never insanely busy and everyone there is super nice and helpful. All of the other coffee shops in Westfield (Starbucks, Peet's, Nordstrom Cafe, or Border's) are terrible and insanely busy. Bottom line: Don't go this Starbucks if you don't have to.

This Starbucks location is so hit or miss. First of all it is very nice that it is right up the stairs from the Powell Bart/Muni stop, so it's very easy to get to on the way to work. That's a plus. A lot of the time the baristas are in a good mood and I do get some smiles and hellos and how are us from a few of them. Another plus. The drinks are pretty much Starbucks standards but lately I have had a few mistakes (which I normally forgive but lately that attitude has been bad!) One time one of the baristas (a female whom I did not know) poored my drink wrong with 2% milk and I spoke to her as she was pouring the wrong milk. Well did she cop an attitude with me and tell me you should have said something sooner or told them when you ordered. I was like umm...excuse me? Don't correct me for the cup marking lady. I did tell the register partner and don't tell me how it is done, I work for the company too now remake my drink. Most of the time I like this location but knowing on the inside labor is being cut and the lines are getting long and as a customer I can totally understand the frustration. I wish corporate would help. This place definitely has the sales for the staff. Hit or miss. That is what you will get here.

Warning! This Starbucks is on Christmas Crack! You got "Rocking Around the Christmas Tree" song blazing out of the store speakers at 7am! I felt like i was in a scene of Home Alone! All the employees are extremely AWAKE and FRIENDLY...and singing a long to the music (maybe they got holiday bonuses that morning?)...the place is decked out with a whole mess of holiday cheer I myself am not that energetic in the morning and so i was a little thrown off when a super cheery Queen was asking me about Tea Bags. "One tea bag or two? ONE TEA BAG OR TWO!?!" ummm...two please =/ A very strange morning...the line did move quickly...once i got my tea bags and nut bread everything seemed alright...just beware of the extreme HAPPINESS at this place.

The Starbucks earns 5 Stars for their bubbly, friendly and happy service. If I could give them more, I would. It's all smiles, all the time , even though the location I'm sure presents challenges. The coffee shop in a basement, next to BART and is always very busy with transients - both the commuter and the street ppl kind. This isn't the neighborhood Starubcks where people sit, relaxing and working away on their laptops or read newspapers while sipping on their fancy drinks. I can't even remember if this Starbucks has seats, however, the Batista's make great drinks and always have a kind word and smile.

    (5)
  • Cindy G.

I expect that place is better. Even though there is no seating and no bathroom what's so ever but the quality is ok.

  • Lianna D.

I have to say that it takes me the LONGEST to wait for my coffee at this particular Starbucks. A friend of mine used to work for Starbucks and told me that from the minutes that you wait in line to the time for a customer to pick up the order should be 7 minutes MAX!! I will always need to wait more than 7 minuets here, no exception! The customer service at this branch barely meets the standard.

    (2)
  • Jack H.

Starbuck's that is OPEN 24 HOURS. There aren't many Starbucks open 24 hours in SF, and this is one of them. For that reason, it gets 4 stars. Usually cops nearby, so its relatively safe. Almost a bit of a hangout spot at 2-5am or so when certain clubs close. Also, one of the few places in the entire area that you can find a bathroom open - 24 hours a day. Good to know a 24 hour coffee shop and bathroom within a 2 minute walk of Union Square. If you live anywhere near downtown SF or FIDI, you know how useful information like that can be from time to time.

So usually I happen to like this particular location. Mostly because my old Starbucks Supervisor is the ASM err was i guess.. My expectation for service was let down. Speed of Service even worse. Overall what usually is a 4-6 minute Coffee run..was well over 15 MINUTES!! Last Saturday was my unpleasant visit to this location...boy was I let down and in an unbelievable state of mind. they had a new girl working the Frapp station. the Barista on the bar making hot espresso drinks was nice and very friendly in an upbeat mood. Cheerful and cracking jokes pleasantly. Cranking out drinks every minute err so...but the Frappaccino...ooh i think my grandma could have pushed those drinks out faster than she was. Note to barista: Make similar beverage orders at the same time. Makes business more efficient and productive. Unless you have an actual One Hour Lunch Break, dont bother going to this location. go to Mission/Fourth Street. They are much faster with service.

  • Meg T.

I went here yesterday while it was raining and after asking where I could sit (I was wearing 4 inch heels) and she told me the stairs which helped a bunch since nowhere else was dry. The guy making the drinks was a little slow, but not bad.

The best thing about Century Theatres is that there's a Starbucks across from the ticket ripper chick (The chick that is constantly being undressed by the security guard's eyes while he makes stupid jokes that he thinks will win her heart. He doesn't realize that she's not interested in him, she only wants company while she does her monotonous task and forgets all about him when she goes home, not knowing that he obsesses about her and tells everyone that they're dating. Nor does she know that he has a miniature hope chest that contains some tickets that she ripped that smell like her and some money that he plans to use for a college fund for kids that they will never have.). The worst thing about Century Theatres is that their Starbucks burns the shit out of their coffee.

This is my favorite Starbucks to go to, and the one that I visit every morning before work. It's located in the "basement" of the mall, near the MUNI and BART lines, so there's constantly people coming here to get their coffee (1) before getting onto transit, (2) getting off of transit, (3) who work at the mall and want a jolt of caffeine before heading back to cleaning the stores. While the lines are always super long, I've never had to wait more than 6 minutes from line standing start to walking away smiling leave. Brian, the manager, is a incredibly sweet guy who is both personable and funny, and is always smiling and upbeat (and for being at work at 4AM, I've no idea how that's possible!) All of the other staff members are always funny, friendly, and will greet you with warm smile and very happy and upbeat personalities. Definitely check this Starbucks out. While it's still "just a Starbucks", it's cool because they have their own little personal flare.

I used to come here almost every morning, and still continue to come here when I get the chance. They have the most awesome staff members, and they are super cool. It is always fast, friendly, and the drinks all always made with care. I never hesitate to come to this Starbucks instead of the surrounding ones in downtown. I would rather walk an extra few blocks, than get it anywhere else.

    (5)
  • Jessica R.

I understand that many people come here but getting my order wrong made me mad. Like there are cashiers and there are workers that come to the end of the line and take your order and then you go to the cashier to pay and it's irritating as hell! They got my drinks wrong and whatever. Too lazy to explain but whatever. I like it better when it's not busy but when is this Starbucks never busy? Exactly. I always come back even if I have a bad experience though.

This "underground" Starbucks is great....perfectly placed like for a perfect impulse buy right after you get off the MUNI or BART. I walk in and order the hazelnut hot chocolate with two shots of espresso that I've been craving and the guy tells me that they have created such a drink and put it on the menu! (sans the hazelnut). Everyone has got to try the Espresso Truffle. Its limited for the holidays and is life changing....the ultimate creamy velvety smooth chocolate mocha.....I want one right now!

This Starbucks enables me to wake up at 5:30 and still make the 6am train with a coffee in hand. In my book, that equal 4 stars. No place to sit..just grab your coffee and go!

  • charlotte s.

this is my go-to starbucks on weekday mornings... even though there's a line, the service is quick and you get your drink within minutes... well i guess it also helps that most of the staff knows what i usually order. thanks for helping me wake up and get energized before work! :D

I experienced really good customer service today... so good, I'd like to share it (and I'm someone who never does this). I had this coupon for a free breakfast sandwich at Starbucks (GET THE APP, IT'S AMAZING) and I was nervous about using it because I thought I might have had to purchase something to use it which scared me because I was really broke and there was a line forming behind me. But once I got to the register I was warmly greeted by Lillie! Who was really nice and called me "love" when she asked what I'd like to have today. I showed her the coupon and she asked me to show her my card without rushing me, which was amazing because my phone is stressfully slow and I know baristas hate that, so it was nice that she was so patient ??!!! After my order was placed she even hand delivered my sandwich to me and said, "here you go love!" And oh my gosh I've never experienced such warm service before, thank you so much Lillie!! (I want to call everyone "love" to make their day too)

Wasted 5 bucks on a so called Vanilla Latte. Super understandable that it gets busy in the morning but it doesn't mean drinks are made with no effort. Sorry not sorry.

This is the closest coffee shop next to my job, so of course I'm going to head here when I have a 5am shift. Anyway, ordered a sandwich and water. Had been here earlier for coffee but being up so early, I need the hydration of water to wake me up. Long story short, my sandwich was ready before my cup of water. I go to the front of the counter to ask for it - politely, might I add - and a blonde haired mixed girl said she would get it for me. I walk to the other end and my drink is there, but not from her. Cool. NBD, until I'm heading out and I hear her say, "who even orders waters?" The only reason she didn't get politely cursed out is because I work in customer service as well, and I'm working on my temper. If you're going to be rude, learn how to whisper. If you don't like serving people, find a new job. It's really that simple. If I didn't have my coffee earlier though.., Ok we're not going to go there. Customer service is usually okay, but nothing profound at this location.

If I could give this Starbucks zero stars I would. I work at the mall and frequent this Starbucks, not because I want to, but just because it's the closest one. But believe me, when I do have the time, I make the effort to walk to a further one. The low amount of stars is not because they don't have discounted refills, I understand why they do not. The one star isn't even reflective on their lack of cleanliness. By the way, this location is constantly gross. The one star is based on customer service alone. I understand that this is a mall location, and the employees probably do not make as much tips per hour as the baristas at other locations. But is it so hard to hire maybe one friendly employee? Every single time I'm there (and its a lot, you can check my gold card history) every single employee seems like they hate their life. Always yelling at customers, always fed up, never smiling or friendly at all. And you wonder why people don't tip? I work retail and I understand you have bad days, but these people really just take the cake. It's like this location hires baristas only if they fit the "do you hate people and your life" criteria. Seriously... Why even bother to keep this location open if they're just going to have terrible service? And if you want other options, Peet's on the other side of the mall is much friendlier.

Horrible service. The staff was not friendly and they kept mixing up orders or not even making what the customer asked for.

They've messed up my order twice in a row, a week apart, by two different batista. The 1st time I just shrugged it off but the 2nd time I brought it up to the batista and she simply said "that's not what the cup says" and went about her business. I waited at the counter for another minute to see if she would fix my drink but she didn't even aknowledge me. Don't like their attitudes, won't be back.

Only one star? Yes. The YELP definition of one star is 'Eek! Methinks not.' As bad of an experience as you can possibly get from Starbucks. I know nobody is on Yelp to learn about Starbucks in particular, but ALL companies care about their online reviews. That said, in two visits here the experience has been comparable to dealing with a MUNI driver. Zero personality from the people behind the counter. No focus on creating a great customer experience. Just going through the motions. Quite honestly, I felt like I was at the jail/prison Starbucks (never been, but if I had, and there was a Starbucks there, pretty sure this is what it'd be like....). Perhaps it's the environment, so close to MUNI, maybe working in public transit creates a bitterness or indifference. -Icing on the cake: the tip jar is awkwardly located almost eye level, atop the register (if I remember right) and the employee contorts his/her arm to hand you your change RIGHT AT THE TOP OF THAT TIP JAR so you know where to put it. Which, in my case, was my pocket.

Don't know if it's because this location is in downtown San Francisco where the hustle and bustle is fast-paced, but this is by far the quickest Starbucks I've been to in regards to getting your drinks ready even at busy times. I've been relying on this place to boost me up with some caffeine energy ever since I moved and started working in the downtown area in 2012 and I haven't been disappointed since. I live back in the South Bay now and all the Starbucks here do not have service as quick as this one. Also very convenient for the BART commuters as it's right off the Powell Street station. My only thing is it seems like the evening crew is much lazier than the morning crew and prepare drinks much more slowly, give attitude, and don't seem to care when taking your order. There's been a couple of incidents where I'd be the only customer and they'd take their sweet ol' time making my drink and while conversing with each other. Oh well, I'm there in the morning more than in the evenings anyhow.

The people working here a joke. I ordered a Valencia Orange to be blended and they looked at me like i was crazy. Worst experience at a starbucks thus far... The cashier was this big dark man who gave me a stare then he walked over to the barista and gave her a crazy look "hey he wants this blended..." And the asian barista girl was just plain bit*h face and made all our orders wrong along with the other people who ordered... Come on guys you work at a busy place, gotta be on top of your game. Step it up. The other guy working made a drink for his friend that didn't order at the register and came after a bunch of customers who had already ordered, but his carmel frap came to the bar before anyone elses did. Plus the guy working was making the drinks after touching the trash which was pretty disgusting. Anyways try ordering the Valencia Orange or Cool Lime Refresher blended just to annoyed them... plus the drink is pretty good. Try it. =)

Is the line is not as big as normal and the people here make you feel like you're at home Anna make me smile every morning because she makes me wake up with a big happy smile of her own

Quite honestly, this is a depressing little place that I frequent like a junkie who can't wait to go to the surface to grab a cup. It also gives one a little break from the smell of sweat and urine filling the Bart station.

If u wanna start ur weekend morning with rude service, here is place!!! Being a gold member of Starbucks, I have never seen such a rude staff! I order soy misto, but I tried my drunk after Ieft and it was with regular milk.

If negative stars were available, i'd click it. This is the worst Starbucks visit ever, the three staff members have slandered the brand name. I get that we had walked in 30 minutes prior to closing, I got that from the unwelcoming facial response of the cashier that she had given everyone that had walked in after us. The ONE and only staff member making the beverages was visibly disconnected to the quality of his drinks clearly as my Caramel Machiato was just warm water and whatever sweetener served to me in a dirty cup that got syrup all over my hands just before I walked into bart. Standing there against the wall, because there was not one single chair nor anything else to help relieve the pain of this visit forcing you to watch the misery of each of the staff members in motion, I had noticed the barista made an extra ice water that no one claimed so I asked if I could please take it and he smiles, shrugs, tells me "I don't care what you do." All while the third staff member was looming around while crying and trying to find ways to help what obviously looked like a stressed environment with the most scared pouted face - crying while refilling the napkins! If I was looking for a watery milky warm random beverage this is the #1 spot to come in for. The ice water was the only success from that place..

I'd like to start off by saying I am a gold member who frequents many different Starbucks almost daily. The service I received today was ridiculous. I walked into the store no line no customers literally just me. Surprising I stand in line for a ridiculous amount of time while everyone is doing everything but taking my order or even acknowledging me for a start. Finally I am. I load money on to my account and then am told by have a nice day...but can I order my drink as well?! Order my drink and again the same ordeal my cups sits there until someone finally decides to make my drink. Ridiculous! I then notice my drink is a few pumps short of the requested sweetener I speak up before my drinks finished and am rudely told that it didn't say how many pumps just classic. Shocking cause I remember repeating twice what I wanted when my order was taken. She fixes it and you can tell the barista is clearly annoyed at me correcting her. She places my drink down when it's done and doesn't say anything no nice day thanks nothing. This shops not really known for the great customer service but today was by far the worst I've had at any Starbucks. Too bad it's so convenient or I'd definitely find another.

Am I the only one who finds it funny when asking for a "tall blonde" at a Starbucks? Apparently, because no one ever laughs (except for me). This is the "underground" Starbucks, so if you're looking for it on the map, and you swear you're standing in the exact spot where your GPS says it's located, that's probably because you are. Take the VTA stairs down and you should see it across from the fare machines. This is a tiny Starbucks, but the staff seems to handle the constraints well. People are friendly and customers scoot through, waiting with baited breath for their logo-adorned beverage of choice. And once in a while, one of those people looks like me.

Good for people who need coffee straight off BART. Luckily had walked in when it wasn't busy. They must get a lot of different characters since its right by BART, the shopping center, & close to the streets outside. Never seems to be a dull moment. No complaints here... for this grab n' go shop. [note: don't come here to sit, chat, read, or study as isn't really anywhere for you to do that here]

If I could give them less stars I would. The people working here have shitty attitudes and are rude as fuck. I've worked many customer service positions and I love to give the worker the benefit of the doubt, but this wasn't the case. The workers were out rude to another customer and then proceeded to talk trash about that customer in front of me after they left. When I mentioned that this Starbucks had bad attitudes the employee started to argue with me and yell at me in the store. I come to Starbucks almost everyday and the girl with the bleach blonde hair with grown out roots ruined my vacation experience. Fuck this Starbucks.

The WORST Starbucks in San Francisco. Can you blame them thought? Employees are very rude there are a lot of homeless and dangerous people from the Streets of the Tenderloin loitering around here. Although they are fast, it seems they dont put much care in to their work & it shows. I have an inclanation it's because of the Location. Thet Don't do refills here & I absolutely hate that. This is the only SB that refuses refills. Its best to ignore this Starbucks unless they are having a Sale or somethink is free like the Frappes or if your in a desperate hurry & need somethink or a coffee for the train!

This Starbucks is conveniently located in the Powell Bart station. For me, once I get off the train, it's so convenient to stop by here and grab myself a cup of coffee before heading into the office. But this never happens because the line is always out the door. Avoid morning commute hours. If you can't, be ready with your order so you don't hold up the line. These guys are pros and will take your order while youre in line to help speed up the process.

WORSE STARBUCKS EVER!!!! As a former barista for 3 years, I am very particular when it comes to customer services and the way my lattes taste. This Sbux is conveniently located on the lower level in the mall, grab your coffee and hop on BART or shopping. SERVICES: one barista in particular is why I would not recommend this location to anyone! Tall Caucasian male, dark fluffy hair and medium built. My first experience with him, he was behind the register, taking my order and ringing me up with this body hanging from the bar as if he's ready for a nap or hates his job so much. As he rung me up, he did not acknowledge my presence and just slightly threw my credit card back. DRINKS: When he's not on bar, my drinks are made fine. Recently, I had the experience of him making my drink, and boy I wanted to talk to the store manager after so many bad instances with him. While finishing up my frap, he was on his phone texting!!! So of course it took him couple minutes just to top my frap with a lid. Overall, if you need to get your coffee fix, walk down the street and for some decent customer services- avoid this place at all cost!!!!

Where to find coffee on the road? Many people don't realize there's another city underneath the city. It lives and works along the BART and Muni tracks below street level. If your eagle eye doesn't spot the 2-3 Starbucks on the sidewalk within a few blocks, drop down into Powell Street station and take another look. You will be rewarded with a bustling Starbucks, cranking out coffee like a frothy tidal wave. There's no seating. There's no access to the mall in which it technically resides. It's just open to the transportation station. Walk in, order, walk out. It's all done in a flash. BART and Muni both forbid food and drinks onboard the trains. Do you suppose there might be one or two commuters who ignore this rule? Prices are the same as every other Starbucks downtown.

Ive been getting my coffee here for over 2 years before heading to work. And i have notice everytime the guy with a braded hair is at the counter i never get a good service and today was the worst when he spilled my hot coffee in my uniform. He's the worst. Sorry man but i think you are tired of your job i guess its time for you to find another one that doesnt envolve customer service.

Actually one of the faster starbucks I been to since it's right next to bart and you have to be fast here. It's super small so it can get crowded. But they are fast which is good. Drink wasnt quite right, but close enough...missed a pump if vanilla in my iced vanilla coffee. Other than that it's a typical starbucks.

Not all Starbucks are created equal... dun, dun, dun!!! I'm giving this corporate joint 3 stars because it exists. It's in an interesting area to say the least. It's actually located inside the Bart station and leads right up to the Westfield mall. I've never seen such a thing and was surprised to find a Starbucks as soon as I got off the train. I had no complaints. I was very much looking forward to just finding any coffee shop, so that I could warm up from the cold weather. Lucky for me Starbucks at Cable Car Turnaround was here to save my freezing ASSets. I jumped in line and waited for about 5 minutes, because the place was crowded and ghetto peeps where wasted everyones time with ghetto talk. I ordered my drink from a friendly cashier and I waited about 3 minutes for it. I'll say this Starbucks is one of the most ghetto-est and messiest I've ever seen, but I'm glad my drink was made well. Overall I'm glad it got me out of a latte jam, but I'd say this might be my least favorite Starbucks of them all.

Staffs are always nice and attentive, though they barely write my name right (nobody does first time). The store is clean, and drinks are made fast. It is right inside the mall where my school locates, so it's easy to get a caffeine reload between class. Thank for being there.

BEWARE PAY CASH!!!! I'm not sure if someone from behind the counter comprised my debit card or not, the visa part of my card was shut down from my bank because they saw activities pending in Long Beach while I was in Union Square shopping. I had the card in my possession the entire time. NOTE: inside Westfield mall on Market St. I thank my bank for stopping for canceling my card. The people couldn't purchase anything.

This place has failed me.. Yet again! I can't believe the older filipino lady had the nerve to lie to my face and tell me she didn't put milk in my SOY drink. I clearly saw her. She always fucks up and puts milk in my drink but she usually always catches it and redoes it but I guess she was lazy today. I don't know. If this Starbucks wasn't in such a convenient location (close to where I work) I would definitely be spending my money elsewhere.. Like at Peet's. On a side note Jason and Nancy are great. 5 stars to them!

this starbucks has got it together! they're so efficient with the morning BART crowd of fast paced people trying to rush to work after a commute. they've never messed up my drink (i guess drip coffee is hard to screw up). baristas are friendly, they'll go out of their way to bring you your food at the accoutrement station while you're milking and sweetening your cup o joe. love it. one less star for the huge mess of sugar packets and spilled milk, and the occassional homeless person dragging in their pillow/blanket and eating at the pick up counter, leaving trash and crumbs, then leaving his 10 used packets of sugar in the raw on the counter and making a huge mess. that's what you get for working in the city, though!

Disrespectful racist staff! Whoever is on duty today the 4th at 12:11 noon. Staff made me feel I was dumb. Was asked if they could get me anything and I said 'no' as I was still deciding what to get, i was taking my time and it wasn't busy at all. This Black girl whispered to the other Asian girl who was at the cashier and said "i don't think she got what I said" and both just started shaking their heads and laughed....so unprofessional and very disrespecful because I was just in front on them... I wish I got both their names... I left w/o ordering...

Bought a hot chocolate. Tasted like watered down chocolate. Brought it back. Made again with extra chocolate. Tasted like stronger watered down chocolate. Ended up throwing away in trash. Thanks for re-making my hot cocoa. It just tasted yucky! I guess I'll just stick to coffee at your place instead.

Located outside the entrance of the Westfield shopping center at the Powell St BART Muni Metro station. I keep my fingers crossed during the morning rush hour and hope that the line is short. More times than not you can expect a line. Give it 5-10 minutes if you count ten or more folks in line. Yesterday I came over at 2:30pm, and no one in line.

I went to this Starbucks couple days ago with my boyfriend just having a fun time in SF. We were lining up and this rude lady gave such poor customer service. As we were waiting in line she said out loud in the most rudest way "I CAN HELP WHO'S NEXT!" She did not even smile. At that time I was like wtf but then whatever about it, as my boyfriend ordered nicely like how everyone would order; "could I order the grasshopper (secret menu)" the lady responded "WHAT?!" and my boyfriend asked again nicely, she was even more rude and asked "What's in it...?" we tried explaining to her what's in it and we finally got our drink. The drink tasted okay , it didn't really taste that delicious. I seriously wonder how she got hired because as I looked at every other worker they were so nice and gave good customer service compared to her. Overall, the lady with glasses, black hair, or whatever tf she looks like gave us an attitude for no damn reason. Deserves less then a star.

This was the absolute WORST customer service I've received. Not just at a Starbucks store, but any retail or restaurant or ANY type of service I've encountered in my life. This happened on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at around 7:30 p.m. My cousin and I wanted a quick drink after walking around in the mall. This store was not as busy as many Starbucks stores usually are. First off, the small, filipino cashier with wannabe hipster glasses didn't even greet me & just asked for my order. She had to scan a gift card from my phone & wasn't getting it right away, so she gave me an attitude. She didn't even say "Thank you" for ordering. All she said was, "Is that it?" and didn't even ask me if I wanted my receipt. It was a very awkward transaction as a customer. I already joked with my cousin and said, "This is probably the worst Starbucks I've been to." and because it was really her first time at Starbucks, I explained that stores usually aren't like this. Then it becomes worse. The barista, tall husky (not buff) African American guy with long hair, shouted out my cousin's order: "Strawberry Frap" and when I looked at it, it was super watery & sloppy. After a minute (because he was occupied making other drinks), I said: "Excuse me. We ordered Hazelnut in this and I just want to make sure..." He interrupts me with, "I put hazelnut in that already." Me: "Oh okay. But this frap is really watery. Do you mind making another one?" Barista: "That's how fraps are supposed to be." rolling his eyes. Me: "Let's be real. Would you really drink this?" Barista: "Yeah, that's how fraps are supposed to be." Me: "No, it's not. I've ordered so many fraps in my life to know that it's not supposed to be this watery." Barista: "YOU CAN GO GET A REFUND." Me: "No, you can make another one. I don't want a refund." Barista: "I ain't makin another one. That's how fraps are supposed to be. You can go get a refund." He yelled out to the rude cashier by the name of (Arlene?) saying, "Arleneee, you better get her. She talkin' to me all crazyyyy." while I'm just standing there. Arlene yells "GET OUT!" by the top of her lungs. I thought she was talking to me but she yelled at another group of customers. The barista kept calling me crazy IN FRONT OF EVERYONE. I was humiliated as I stood there with everyone just looking at me. He kept repeating for me to get a refund. I wasn't acting crazy, but I definitely could if I wanted to. The thing is... he made MY frap just fine but... he couldn't make another frap over again? I finally got fed up with it, went to the cashiers and asked for a manager. This lady at the cashier says in the most annoyingly sweet voice "Oh, I'm the manager." REALLY?! This whole time your employees have been yelling out, you've done nothing? I told her what happened and all she said was, "Oh.. well that is a frap. It's just a little watery." IT WAS SUPER WATERY. She wasn't concerned AT ALL about what we've just experienced. All she did was make another one and gave ONE refund of that drink. I've never complained about an actual store, but I'm highly upset about something that's happened last week. The store manager really needs to step their game up because this store has the laziest people I've encountered. I was humiliated, embarrassed and beyond angry. I go to Starbucks for the service & consistency, but I'm afraid to say that this experience really just makes me roll my eyes every time I drive by a Starbucks... and that's many times in a 10 minute drive!

I wish they could separate order lines into those who just want a quick drip to go vs those ordering fancy drinks. The lines are too ridiculously long for this commuting hub.

I would give them zero stars at this point, if I could. I had such a horrible experience here that I'm pretty sure I will never come back to this location again. So bad that I couldn't wait to write this review. I came here tonight (12/27) around 5:30pm to a line to get my usual drink. The line of six people ahead of me was expected, it being holiday season and all and this location is pretty good about getting people in an out in a timely manner. I'm second to next in line and all of a sudden, a guy comes out of line and just comes up to one of the cashiers (it looks like they were friends) and starts talking to her and the cashier pours him a green tea and sends him on his way, no money paid. When you have a line going OUT OF THE DOOR, this is TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE as we are paying customers and we should be helped out first. Unfortunately, this is NOT the first time I have seen this happen at this particular location. I finally placed my order for my drink and then I sit and wait 20 minutes for it. Apparently, a gentleman in front of me ordered a bunch of drinks and they were unprepared for that...which would be believable had I not seen just ONE barista working the espresso machine and FOUR in the back restocking things. Seriously? CALL FOR HELP. Amidst all of this, one of the women waiting for her drink kindly asked the barista for a drink of water while she waited and she was told that she had to go all the way back in line (which had doubled in size at this point) to get it because the Barista didn't have any cups...WHICH WERE IN ARMS REACH. It looked VERY LAZY on her part and very RUDE. Like I said, mind you there were other employees just lollygagging in the back rearranging coffee beans, etc. Once the woman who requested water left, the baristas started to make fun of her saying "ain't nobody got time for that!" completely within earshot of everyone waiting for their drink. On top of all of this, I NEVER GOT MY DRINK. I had to go back to the barista and ask for a refund. I was fed up with waiting and the HORRIBLE service I received. I've been a loyal patron of this location since it opened back in 2005-2006 and I've watched the staff change numerous times and I must say that this set right now makes this location look AWFUL and I doubt I will ever return here after this f***ery that went on tonight.

This morning I got some oatmeal, the didn't include the cranberries or the sugar and didn't even mentioned they were out as if they are not charging mostly for the extra ingredients. The oatmeal tastes old or rancid, what a ripoff. In the past I've had negative attitude from the barista but for the most part all their staff are really friendly. My final complain is that the prices seem to fluctuate, at time I'm charged more or less for the same items and today specifically I wasn't give my change.

I am impressed. This is possibly the busiest Starbucks I have ever been to, and they were cranking out orders as fast as I have ever seen. This place operates like a well-oiled machine. Whatever their system is for processing orders, it works. I had to wait longer than usual for my Americano, but a 10 minute wait for a drink when there are approximately 30 people ahead of you is not bad at all.

Straight up lied to me that sweetener was not added to my drink when I saw her put the syrup in... 2 stars for the gentleman that promptly made my drink over again. It can be hectic here so mistakes happen but do not LIE to a customer's face. All is forgiven when I sip my bitter beverage; I love bitter things--dare not sweeten my beverages.

Let me start off by saying that this is probably the busiest starbucks in the entire city since it serves almost everyone heading into Union Square via Muni rail or BART train. So if it's busy, don't be surprised. The flip side to this however is that seasoned staffers at this location are easily twice as fast as any other Starbucks in the city, and I've seen the difference many many times. No, it's far from perfect. It's not coffee mecca and I'm not making a pilgrimage nor waiting in a block-long line to taste of their sweet cup of whatever-the-hell-I-ordered. This ain't the place for you, hipster. Blue Bottle's around the corner if you've got two hours to kill. This is the place where you Seinfeld-soup-nazi your way into the line, order, pay, get coffee and GTFO. Usually in under 2 minutes. The coffee is consistently good here. It's sold very quickly so their drip is freshly brewed at any given rush-hour moment. Sure, the newbie staff can be a little slow some times, but they usually pick up the pace after a month or two.

Ok. I've got a bone to pick with these Baristas and this store in general! Sure it's right there at the Powell St BART & Muni Metro stations as well as the outer fringes of the Westfield San Francisco Shopping Centre so convenience is there (1 star). The rest of it is stinkier than a 100-year old ostrich egg, ok?! The store is always disgustingly dirty, the Baristas are slower than two 90 year olds having sex and not to mention dumb as f**k! I can't count how many times I had to tell this one guy who is always running the register (dangerous!) how I like my drink. You shouldn't have to repeat your order three times much less raise your voice to let everyone in the place know what your having! And the ladies making the drinks, were you trained?! I know if I went back there with no training I'd likely be able to get those drinks out faster AND with a smile! So you peeps working here, get it right, get a clue or get another job because you're not cutting the mustard.
